How credits are used and billing

Credits are how DocTik meters AI usage. Each plan includes a monthly credit allowance, and AI-powered actions draw from that balance in proportion to the work they require. Organizing your case — creating it, uploading files, tracking deadlines — does not use credits; only AI actions do.

• Research mode answers — more, because they do deeper, sourced work
• Document analysis — based on the size and complexity of the document
• AI document drafting — based on the length of the draft produced

In general, longer and more thorough tasks cost more than short, quick ones. DocTik warns you before a credit-heavy action when your balance is low.

Paid plans are billed on a recurring cycle — monthly or annually, depending on what you choose at checkout. Your credit allowance refreshes at the start of each cycle. On the free plan, credits reset each period and do not roll over; on paid plans, roll-over follows your plan’s terms.

You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel from your account settings at any time. Upgrades take effect right away so you get more credits immediately; cancellations stop future billing while leaving you access through the end of the period you have paid for. Payments are processed securely by Stripe — DocTik never stores your card number.

If you run out of credits, AI features pause until your allowance refreshes or you upgrade. Everything else — your cases, documents, evidence, and timeline — stays fully available, since those do not depend on credits. Keep an eye on the balance shown on your dashboard so you are never caught off guard mid-task.
