Understanding your dashboard

A tour of the dashboard: cases, deadlines, open items, and quick actions.

Last updated June 3, 2026

Your home base

The dashboard is the first thing you see when you sign in. It gives you a high-level view of everything you are working on so you can decide where to focus. From here you can jump into any case, start a new one, or act on whatever is most urgent.

Cases list

Each case you create appears as a card showing its title, your role, the court, and a status indicator. Click any card to open that case’s workspace, where its documents, timeline, evidence, and chat history live. If you handle more than one matter, this is how you switch between them.

Upcoming deadlines

The deadlines panel surfaces the dates that matter most across all your cases, sorted by how soon they are due. Items approaching quickly are highlighted so a filing deadline or hearing does not slip past you. Clicking a deadline takes you to the relevant case and its timeline.

Always confirm deadlines against the official court record and applicable rules. DocTik helps you track dates, but you are responsible for meeting them.

Open items and tasks

Open items are the to-dos DocTik and you have identified — documents to file, responses to draft, evidence to gather. The dashboard shows a rolling list so you always know your next step. See "Managing open items and tasks" for how these are created and cleared.

Quick actions

  • Start a new case from any of the four creation methods
  • Open the AI assistant to ask a question
  • Jump straight to document upload
  • Review your credit balance and plan
